From the year before last.
Dickerman Peak. Overall, it’s a pleasant but fairly straightforward half-day hike. Most of the trail winds through forest, but near the summit (which still reaches 1,746 meters / 5,728 feet) it emerges into alpine meadows, bringing with it all the expected alpine wildflowers and sweeping views. There is usually still some lingering snow up there even in July — a welcome refuge from the summer heat.
But the real highlight turned out to be Glacier Peak. We suddenly realized that, although we think about it all the time, we hadn’t actually been there in twelve years — which is really quite inexcusable. So as soon as we finished Dickerman, we headed straight for Glacier Peak. But that’s a story for another time.
