Silver Lake of North Cascades

A lake named Silver is not alone in our places. We have visited several of them. This exact lake is located in North Cascades.

Two years ago, in North Cascades, we found the ghost town Monte Cristo, a former gold mine, a place where Trump’s grandfather set the origin of the family welfare.
Monte Cristo is the base of the trails that lead to the mountain’s lakes and waterfalls. On our first visit, we didn’t have time to follow them but set the note for the future.
In the middle of this September, we decided to spend a day here to check some ways.
To Monte Cristo, the trail is flat and quick, and nothing new compared with our previous visit.
From Monte Cristo, the trail is very steep but good and clear.
View from the trail to the opposite ridge.

Closer.

Silver Lake is a clear, beautiful, classic mountain lake. With fishes and frogs.

Several meters lower Silver Laker locates a company of small lakes-ponds-pools. The incubator of local frogs, and also mirror for perfect reflections.

Tadpoles.

Plants.

Nice place, we love it. From Silver Lake, the trail follows the grope of even higher lakes. Plan to go where one day.
