For a long time I though that Oregon is ocean beaches, waterfalls, and volcanoes. In fact Oregon is mainly the prairies with tumbleweeds and wind-mills. You can drive hours by hours and nothing will changes around you.
In the middle of this unchangeable landscape there is a one of world-known paleontologic Meccas and just beautiful place. John Day National Monument.
There are three separated units of the park. One of them, Painted Hills, is more famous because of land color than fossils.
On our way to Painted Hills.
View near the place.
First red hills.
More colored beauty.
